How to prepare for the interview

- Be prompt. Show up at least 15 minutes before the interview.
- Review the “Sample Interview Questions”. Make sure you have your answers memorized.
- Note: not all Sample Interview Questions apply to everyone. Practice the ones that apply to you.
- Practice your Sample Interview Questions responses out loud or with someone.
- Have a copy of your resume with you to hand out if need be
- Have a copy of your accomplishments/certifications to share with the interviewer (if applicable).
- Review your resume before each interview
- Do not interrupt the interviewer. Write notes so you would remember what you wanted to say or ask.
- When asked a question elaborate on your answers, don’t just answer yes or no.
- Be honest. The interviewer will ask the same question many different ways to ensure your honesty.
- Learn about the employer and what they do
- Show the interviewer you are interested in what the organization is all about
- Do not speak negatively of previous employers. This will have a negative impact on you.
- Have some questions ready to ask the interviewer. You wait until the end of the interview to ask them.
- Do not curse. This will end the interview on the spot.
- Be respectful of the interviewer.
- Dress well
- Minimize jewelry, strong perfume/cologne
