General Summary

The Assistant Director of Career Curriculum is responsible for the day-to-day management, marketing, and assessment of the Career Center's academic career courses and supports the Senior Associate Director with career curriculum across the University. This position works closely with students, employers, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities & Duties

    • Manage scheduling and enrollment for UIP career courses.

    • Oversee the workflow and approval process for enrollment in UIP’s Experiential Learning courses, interfacing with students, employers, faculty, and staff.

    • Create course modules, tools, resources, and training materials for students, employers, faculty, and staff.

    • Map career curriculum across the University.

    • Serve in an HR-capacity for UIP faculty, including, but not limited to managing all hiring paperwork, payroll, tech requests, and onboarding.


    • Oversee data reporting and analysis for career curriculum, producing enrollment reports and collecting relevant data regarding outcomes for students enrolled in career courses.

    • Audit and assess career curriculum..

    • Analyze UIP Marketing Communication efforts.


    • In collaboration with the Career Center Communication’s team, design the MarComm strategy for UIP’s academic career courses.

    • Develop marketing materials and creatively promote UIP using available technology, social media platforms, web content, print material, event attendance, and other mediums and outlets in order to increase engagement among students, employers, and campus partners.

    • Design and deliver online and in-person UIP info sessions.


    • Develop and maintain resources and training materials for UIP faculty that emphasize current trends and best practices.

    • In collaboration with the Center for Teaching & Learning, provide instructional support for courses offered and developed by UIP.

    • Field UIP faculty inquires, providing guidance, as needed.

    • In collaboration the Senior Associate Director, facilitate quarterly UIP faculty meetings.


    • Field student inquires about UIP 

    • Advise students regarding UIP policies, procedures, and the enrollment process.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in a professional environment.

Preferred Requirements

Advanced degree.

  • Experience working with experiential learning, academic internship programs, instructional/curriculum design, marketing/communications, scheduling/enrollment, human resources, assessment, higher education, and/or career services.

  • Familiarity with software/platforms: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign), Canva, Microsoft Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Qualtrics, data analytics tools (e.g. Looker), student information systems (e.g. PeopleSoft), learning management systems (e.g. D2L/Canvas), and Career Management Systems (e.g. Handshake/GradLeaders).

Managerial Responsibilities
Supervision of one student employee.

  • Demonstrated experience managing marketing communications projects.

  • Experience with data management, analysis, and/or data analytics tools.

  • Understanding of academic culture and higher education program management.

  • Understanding of internships and their relations to the concept of Experiential Learning.

  • Familiarity with instructional/curriculum design.

Additional Information

Flexible working hours including evening and weekends may sometimes be required. Travel between campuses required.
