Development at Passages aspires to build a strong donor program and thereby secure the funding necessary to support the projected growth of the organization.  To accomplish these goals, the Director of Development oversees our donor relations program and manages fundraising activities.  This position will formulate and execute a strategy for developing pipelines of Major Donors, a middle Donor program, marketing and promotional material, and other related developmental programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and develop marketing, promotional and development materials, and help in the creation of detailed resources for formal proposal to prospective donors
  • Work with the programmatic team to create a funding menu and targeted opportunities to appeal to key prospective partners and stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders to develop pipeline of Major Donors ($100,000 +) for solicitation.  
  • Develop Middle Donor ($10,000 - $100,000) Program.  
  • Assist in oversight of foundation grant writing team.
  • Work with Passages design team on design, copywriting, and artwork to create concepts to build Jewish, Catholic and Evangelical audiences. 
  • Develop a series of private exclusive events for Major Donor recruitment.  
  • Develop Monthly Giving program, lower level giving program ($1.00 - $9,999).  
  • Develop Personal Fundraising program for student, alumni, and parent population. 
  • Travel to potential donor locations as needed for interest meetings.
  • Accompany the Executive Director and other stakeholders as needed on Major Donor presentations.
  • Coordinate interest trips as needed to Israel.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communication or related field
  • 5+ years of fundraising experience
  • Foundation and grant writing experience to oversee grant writing team
  • Experience and proficiency in public speaking
  • Proactive and engaging leadership style
  • Proven track record of successful Not-for-Profit fundraising and donor programming. It is a plus if that success has been in the faith-based domain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to relocate to Passages office in Naperville, IL
  • Ability to travel in the US and internationally to Israel
  • Proficient in Mac OS and Microsoft Office Suite
