Lecturer / Professor Of Practice in Department of Construction Management
The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Construction Management in the College of Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the level of Lecturer or Professor of Practice (depending on qualifications) starting August 2018. Enrollments in the department continue to grow along with the industry demand for our graduates. The program is looking for an individual to join our dynamic team in East Texas as we focus on graduating leaders for the Construction Management fields. This individual must be ready to provide relevant and exciting learning opportunities to a growing student body. Applicants with backgrounds in construction and project management, general contracting, utility contracting, heavy civil construction, or consulting experience are preferred. The successful candidate will teach courses in on-line, hybrid, and traditional formats at the undergraduate level, contribute to the construction management program, and be actively engaged in student mentoring and professional service including mentoring students in their professional development.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned master’s degree in construction or project management, construction engineering, or civil engineering, or in a closely related field, such as architecture, design, or construction/materials science. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in construction management or construction engineering and previous teaching experience are preferred. Candidates with a Ph.D. are encouraged to apply. Additional consideration will be given to Licensed Professional Engineers, Certified Project Engineers, Certified Project Managers and Certified Professional Constructors.
